Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 11, 2026
At Supes, we value your privacy above everything else. Because our tools are built for developers, we understand the importance of keeping your proprietary code, prompts, and personal data secure. This Privacy Policy details exactly how we handle data when you install and use the Supes Chrome extension and VS Code/Cursor extension.
1. Core Privacy Commitments
- No Code or Prompt Reading: Supes does not read, log, or transmit your prompts, chat history, code, or context. The extensions operate entirely on local triggers.
- No Personal Information: We do not ask for or collect personally identifiable information (PII) like names, emails, addresses, or phone numbers.
- No Data Selling: We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to third parties.
- No Location Tracking: We do not collect or monitor your GPS location or IP address. GeoIP logging is disabled on our servers.
2. Data Collection & Usage
To deliver a high-quality product, we process two types of non-sensitive information:
-
Local Settings (Offline): Preferences such as panel display delays, cooldowns, and completed quiz scores are saved locally inside your browser/IDE storage (e.g.
chrome.storage.local). This data never leaves your device. - Anonymous Usage Analytics (Optional): If you choose to keep analytics enabled, we send anonymous events (e.g. "quiz answered", "mini-game started", or "sponsor clicked") to our self-hosted posthog instance. This data is indexed by a randomly generated anonymous UUID and is used strictly to understand feature usage and developer preferences. You can disable this analytics option at any time in the settings page.
3. Third-Party Services
The Supes side-panel may display content or links to third-party services:
- Developer Stories: News headlines are fetched from Hacker News APIs. If you click on an article, you will navigate directly to the respective third-party website.
- Sponsors & Credits: Sponsored credits are provided by developer tool platforms. If you click to claim credits, you will be redirected to the sponsor's landing page.
- Retro Games: Embedded games are hosted in a sandboxed iframe. These external frames are restricted and cannot access the extension's code or APIs.
We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any third-party websites you visit through external links.
4. Data Deletion
Because all of your settings and quiz progress are stored locally, you can delete this data instantly by uninstalling the extension or clearing your browser/IDE extension storage.
5. Contact & Updates
We may update this policy periodically to reflect product changes. The "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect the latest revisions. If you have any questions or feedback about our privacy practices, please contact us.
